Taliban Resurgence in Northern Afghanistan

Much like other groups, the Taliban has become the heart of resistance to central government corruption and abuse. As long as they have drug money and desire they will be able to project force. Pretty straightforward, actually.

And if we’re looking like continually propping up government corruption and abuse… we lose Afghanistan completely.

A couple of things —
1. Desire for religious freedom.
2. Desire for self-rule.
3. Distant and rugged terrain.
It has been done before — I think it was called the American Revolution.
