Pakistan Helps The Taliban

I wonder why we are not angry at Pakistan, like we are at Iran. After all, Pakistan is ruled by a dictator with nuclear weapons, and Osama Bin Laden is hiding in Pakistan. Why do we give them a free ride?

Good question. American armed forces should be at Iraq levels in Afghanistan right now (and of course not in Iraq). Furthermore, if Pakistan did not give up Osama Bi Laden, and stop harboring terrorists attacking U.S. Military assets, I would expand that war directly into Pakistan, to root out the Taliban resistance, and find Bin Laden. Let the political chips and niceties fall where they may. The Taliban were directly responsible (through their harboring of Bin Laden) for 9/11. That is where our wrath should be.

Guy,
Well said. It really is ironic. Remember Bush’s continual use of Zarqawi’s presence in northern Iraq as justification for invasion? Yeah, Zarqawi was also in an area that was not really controlled by Saddam, just like Bin Laden is in an area of Pakistan not controlled by Musharraf….yet Musharraf sits on several nukes, unlike Saddam. Moreover, Musharraf has put down rebellions with plenty blood spilt.
