Ronald Reagan Messed It All UP!

To borrow a famous line from the Senator from Mississippi, Mr. Trent Lott, if Reagan had chosen Ford instead of Bush “we wouldn’t have had all these problems over all these years.”

  1. The article, of course, raised plenty of good reasons why Ford wasn’t accepting. (As was noted, Reagan chose Ford but Ford chose to withdraw.) I’m not seeing how George H. W. Bush’s nomination as VP and eventual presidency have directly effected George W. Bush’s current stint as president nor how it has caused a legacy of problems. I’d lay more blame on Reagan than Bush Sr.

  2. Yeah, I know that Ford was the one who said no. But just imagine what a different world we would have today. I highly doubt Bush Jr. would have gotten as far as he had were his dad not so successful. He rode his dad’s coattails for so long…
