It’s a beautiful thing to watch. Maybe Republicans can be saved after all…

  1. Republicans can’t be saved by Ron Paul, though. He talks a good game about Iraq and our rampant militarism, but there’s practically nothing else about him that any rational person should like. Just check out some of his stances.

  2. The only support he gives for an immediate troop withdrawal is an ad hominem attack and a false analogy. Iraq is not Vietnam–it’s similar in some ways, but in other ways, such as who we’re fighting and how the neighbors are or may become involved, it’s very different.

  3. Ron Paul? No thanks.

  4. The guy – Ron Paul – looks stupid; he talks like an idiot and he’s also a Democrat – not a Republican. That’s the truth about him.

  5. dan,
Paul is about as far from a democrat as you can get on just about every issue including medicare, Social Security etc. He is a libertarian. However, he speaks the truth on the Iraq war. As far as looking stupid and talking like an idiot goes, I guess you need Bill Clinton back in office then, the handsome and smooth-talking type.

    Onelower,
The vietnam analogy is somewhat helpful if you are arguing that things won’t be so bad after we pull out. I’d argue that things are pretty bad in Iraq because we are there.

  6. Curtis, …then we both agree that Ron is not a republican. Imagine someone like him – his face, his demeanor, his voice, his imbecility, etc., becoming a US President, he is going to be a laughing stock of the world! He is someone I would put in a laboratory – either as specimen or a chemist.

  7. dan,
Why do you call him an imbecile? He’s not handsome enough for you to give him support and that’s ok with me if that’s what’s important to you in our country’s leader. I don’t see where his intelligence is lacking though. He’s making the rest of the republican field look pretty stupid if you ask me.

  8. With all the domestic spying on politicians (as well as dissenters) the odds of anyone getting past the SS troopers is effectively zero.

All one needs to notice is that the domestic spying authorization was oked by democrats. Think that the admin has nothing on them?

  9. A libertarian saving the Republican party? That’s a laugh.

Clearly, if you watch that debate, it’s like Ron Paul is on a different stage talking about something completely irrelevant.

Romney dominated that debate, just like all the ones before….

  10. Romneys a joke,
    hes just another neocon crackpot.
Pauls the only candidate worth supporting.

  11. I personally believe that political debates in general aren’t very useful. The one who gets the most followers wins, which means that the debates are full of logical flaws and fallacies, and more artistic rhetoric than clear and reasonable exposition of truth. Besides that, studies in political science have shown that the debates strengthen peoples’ resolve in the candidates they’ve already chosen much more than they get them to change their mind.

  12. Amen. Another reason they’re totally rigged is that they are not run by the public, they are a private organization run by the Republicans and Democrats and all other candidates are shut out for the most part. Just think of the gore we could have seen had Bush been forced to debate Ralph Nader. Ahh, to have seen such a sight.

  13. WHO IS WINNING ALL THE DEBATE POLLS, IF YOU CALL SOME ONE STUPID AN A IDIOT THAT USUALLY IS A REFECTION OF THE NONAGE YOU HAVE ABOUT A SUBJECT. ITS LIKE THE ONE FINGER THREE FINGER DEAL. ALL THE TOP TIER CANDIDATES FROM BOTH PARTY’S ARE EITHER CFR MEMBERS OR ARE FUNDED BY THE TC GLOBALISTS, AND IF ELECTED AS PRESIDENT WILL FOLLOW THE CFR TC GLOBAL AGENDA, WITCH IS OPEN BORDERS AND THE FORMATION OF THE NORTH AMERICAN UNION. AND RON PAUL IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE THAT HAS A CHANCE TO SLOW THEM DOWN AND HELP KEEP THIS A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC.

  14. those dastardly globalists!

    WITCH IS OPEN BORDERS

Again, what is it with conservatives and spelling?

  15. Has anyone really read the constitution? Well, Ron Paul has. All the problems he outlines in his platform ARE REAL US problems. 1.) The fact that unselected officials print money out of thin air is ridiculous (The Fed’s control of interest rates). 2.) Immigration. Defending America from terrorism? How? I can swim to Mexico and back without getting caught. Islamic radicals could easily do that too. Our country STILL isn’t safe. 3.) This war on terror. Who is the enemy and when are we done fighting. I voted for Bush because of his attack on big government under Clinton. It costs too much damn money to have 700 bases in over 130 countries and we have no real goals or ways to achieve them over anywhere. 4.) We have to stop nation building. Operations in Colombia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, ect ect ect. SO much money! We borrow from the Chinese. Who is to pay for this at the same time solving social security? HA!
Ron Paul is great because he follows his own rules. Other politicians have rules but then are constantly on the lookout for saying something not-PC because it might affect votes. Well, Paul is principled. He believes in the constitution. No matter what any politically affiliated person believes, it doesn’t matter because ultimately the CONSTITUTION is the law of the land. It decides
