Barry Bonds is Toast

Well Barry Bonds is indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice. Looks like he might not be playing next summer and that his career is basically over. He had a fairly good career, but I think this will really harm his chances to get into the Hall of Fame.

  1. A San Francisco sportswriter, interviewed on a talk station I listen to in the mornings while driving my daughter to seminary, says that Barry’s goose may not yet be cooked.

San Francisco is pretty liberal (surprise!) and all they need is one person on the jury whose attitude is that the government has no business involving itself in this steroid scandal at all, and conviction will not happen.

Major League Baseball certainly doesn’t suffer when major baseball stars who may be a little bit juiced up end up hitting longballs consistently.

It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
