“Kill Him!” “Terrorist!”

Sarah Palin stokes conservatives to a point where someone in the crowd yells out “Kill him!”

And the person dishing out the roughest stuff at the moment is Sarah Palin.

“I was reading my copy of the New York Times the other day,” she said.

“Booooo!” replied the crowd.

“I knew you guys would react that way, okay,” she continued. “So I was reading the New York Times and I was really interested to read about Barack’s friends from Chicago.”

It was time to revive the allegation, made over the weekend, that Obama “pals around” with terrorists, in this case Bill Ayers, late of the Weather Underground. Many independent observers say Palin’s allegations are a stretch; Obama served on a Chicago charitable board with Ayers, now an education professor, and has condemned his past activities.

“Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers,” Palin said.

“Boooo!” said the crowd.

“And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,'” she continued.

“Boooo!” the crowd repeated.

“Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience.

Did this man mean Obama or Ayers? In either case, the McCain campaign better be careful in its attempt to portray Obama as a bad person that they don’t incite people to commit acts of murder. Hell, in his earlier speech in New Mexico, when McCain asked “Who really is Barack Obama?” the first reply from someone in the audience was “Terrorist!”

Are members of the McCain campaign really wanting this? To incite Americans enough that someone might get the bright idea to actually act and “kill” the “terrorist” Obama? Is this what our country has become?

There aren’t enough words to describe how wretched and vile the Republican brand has become. Josh Marshall adds:

So we have McCain today getting his crowd riled up asking who Barack Obama is and then apparently giving a wink and a nod when one member of the crowd screams out “terrorist.”

And later we have Sarah Palin with the same mob racket, getting members of the crowd to yell out “kill him”, though it’s not clear whether the call for murder was for Bill Ayers or Barack Obama. It didn’t seem to matter.

These are dangerous and sick people, McCain and Palin. Whatever it takes. Stop at nothing.

To all you Mormon conservatives out there, will you stand for this kind of language from your political leaders? Is this really what represents what you believe in?

  2. Terrorist!!

  3. I am increasingly disgusted by the McCain campaign. 8 years ago I was voting for him and wishing it were him on the ticket instead of Bush. Now I have never been more disgusted with a politician.

When the person in the crowd shouted terrorist the look on McCain’s face said it all. Kind of like when your child says a bad word, you have to maintain a straight face and discipline them but try not to laugh.

He is sinking to new lows all to win. He is not addressing the issues that are going on in this country, he is repeating the same lines over and over again and has become a lying liar who lies. On the opposing side I listen to Obama and hear him talk about issues, the economy, taxes health care.

I never thought I would be so grateful for the race between Senator Clinton and Obama, all these issues were brought up then and are a dead horse now. McCain has shown just how desperately he wants to be president, not how much he wants to help this great country.
