Alaska is America’s Most Socialist State
October 22, 2008 at 6:41 am | Posted in American politics | 2 CommentsIt’s quite ironic for McCain and Palin to go around claiming that Obama is a socialist for “spreading the wealth.” But think about this for a second, is there another state in the union that “spreads the wealth” like Alaska does? Does not every single Alaskan get money from the state? Does not every Alaskan get EXACTLY THE SAME AMOUNT like every other Alaskan? Talk about a welfare, communist state! Alaska is it.

Or maybe this just shows how kind and compassionate free-market capitalism can be when it has a little extra resource-based revenue to work with.

Dave,
So capitalism is only kind and compassionate when it forces an entire state to be a slave to a high demand natural resource.
Wouldn’t it be more capitalistic to let corporations keep that money so that they pay their employees a higher wage? Why should the state be involved…except it were socialist…
